About the role

DNA Protocol connects privacy-first digital identity, credentials and scoped proofs with verifiable evidence on the XRP Ledger. As an XRPL Protocol Engineer, you will build services that turn explicitly authorized evidence-anchoring requests into traceable, validated transactions.

Focus on transaction construction, submission, finality, reconciliation and developer tooling around credential registries and verification receipts. Keep private credential values off-chain and make clear that proof validity, ledger inclusion and issuer authority are separate checks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain XRPL transaction pipelines with explicit handling of signing, submission, expiration, retries, and validated outcomes.
  • Build reliable indexing and reconciliation services so application records remain consistent with ledger activity.
  • Develop APIs and SDK examples for credential registry commitments, verification receipts and authorized evidence anchoring.
  • Handle fees, account reserves, sequence management, RPC failures, and network-specific configuration without hiding failures from users.
  • Work with cryptography engineers on commitment formats, domain separation, replay protection, and threat models.
  • Document protocol assumptions and support staged releases, incident analysis, and performance improvements.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience building integrations with XRPL or another public ledger, with a clear understanding of transaction finality.
  • Strong TypeScript, Rust, or Go skills and experience maintaining production APIs or distributed services.
  • Experience with asynchronous processing, idempotency, durable queues, and failure recovery.
  • Working knowledge of cryptographic signatures, key-handling boundaries, and secure software development.
  • Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly and collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Helpful Experience

  • Experience with XRPL client libraries, ledger indexing, or wallet integrations.
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure, protocol tooling, or reproducible developer examples.
  • Interest in credential provenance and privacy-preserving identity systems, including genomic applications.

What Success Looks Like

  • A documented transaction lifecycle that exposes pending, failed, and validated states accurately.
  • A reproducible integration path from a credential or proof workflow to its independently inspectable XRPL evidence.
  • Operational visibility into submission failures and reconciliation gaps.
