About the role
As a Platform Reliability Engineer at DNA Protocol, you will build the operational foundations for privacy-first digital identity services. Help teams detect failures, recover safely and understand the state of credential, scoped-proof and XRPL evidence workflows.
Support APIs, registry services, verification workloads and ledger integrations with clear environment separation and observable outcomes. Reliability includes protecting private inputs, preserving integrity and distinguishing an incomplete proof check from a pending or failed evidence transaction.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code, deployment pipelines, and clearly separated environments.
- Define service-level indicators and actionable monitoring for credential APIs, queues, proof-verification jobs and ledger-facing evidence services.
- Design backup, restoration, rollback, and incident-response procedures with documented ownership.
- Improve resilience through bounded retries, idempotent processing, queue recovery, and dependency isolation.
- Harden secrets management, service permissions, network access, and operational audit trails.
- Support capacity planning and cost visibility while ensuring logs and metrics do not expose sensitive data.
Qualifications
- Experience operating production services and responding to incidents in a cloud or comparable environment.
- Strong Linux, networking, scripting, and infrastructure automation skills.
- Experience with observability tooling, CI/CD, containers, and reliable data stores.
- Understanding of least privilege, secure configuration, and recoverable system design.
- Ability to write clear runbooks and work constructively with application and protocol engineers.
Helpful Experience
- Experience operating event-driven systems or services that depend on public blockchain RPC endpoints.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling and container orchestration.
- Experience supporting privacy-sensitive or high-integrity data workloads.
What Success Looks Like
- A clear operational view of critical services and their dependencies.
- Documented recovery and rollback procedures for a priority workflow.
- A release process with useful alerts, controlled access, and traceable changes.
